Department Issues DV Lottery 2005 Guidelines
The State Department has issued information and questions
and answers on the criteria and procedures for applying
for the FREE Diversity Visa Lottery for 2005. NOTE: Not
all nationalities are eligible to apply. The registration
period is November 1 through December 30, 2003. All applications
must be filed electronically, directly to the State Department
on or AFTER November 1, 2003.

Date Postponed for Requiring Machine-Readable Passports
in Visa Waiver Program
In consultation with the Department of Homeland Security,
the Department of State postponed until October 2004 the
date for requiring machine-readable passports in order to
participate in the Visa Waiver Progam.
Irish
Soldiers Receive Posthumous Citizenship
Twenty-eight Irish soldiers in the U.S. military during
the Korean War were posthumously naturalized and received
the honorary status of U.S. Citizenship during a special
ceremony on October 30.
